Our Story

Pictor Gallery Custom Framing opened it's doors on 5th November 1995 by the owner Lawrence Robinson, a local man who had previously worked overseas as a land surveyor.

We quickly became members of the Fine Art Trade Guild, the only recognized professional body for framers in the country. The Guild standards have been developed by and for the industry, and are designed to protect consumers' art as well as providing clear guidelines for manufacturers, framers, publishers and fine art printers. We have over 22 years of experience in framing and continue to keep up with the same high standards the Guild recognize and promote. Framing is a personal thing and we treat each job as if it was going on our own gallery wall. What sets us apart is our creativity, attention to detail and our one to one service to deliver the best framing solution for our customers.

In 2017 we were the runners up in the Gunnar National Framing Competition held at the NEC Birmingham whose theme was 'The Car'. We didn't have much time and the only car we had was a small Hotwheels James Bond Aston Martin still in its packaging. The inert bullets are real and the same used in Bond's Waltham PK7 handgun. The result was a multi-layered gun barrel effect focusing on the car highlighted by the wheel of bullets. The mounts and logo were cut with our computerised cutter.
